Is your online store ready for global business?

Download our new whitepaper & then register now for Tuesday’s webinar.

eCommerce has accelerated the creation and exponential growth of the web as the  largest marketplace in history. The rewards of global e-commerce are nearly endless – and by now you must realize that a global view for your online store is absolutely critical.

A company that can successfully expand and embrace a global market – with tactics to address internationalization (i18n) and localization (l10n) – immediately gets access to seven billion potential buyers, from hundreds of cultures. These aspects, however, if they’re to be done right, are anything but small tasks.

To get a jump on the competition, or to check your current process against solid, winning results, download our most recent whitepaper,” Key Factors to Consider When Going Global with Your eCommerce Initiatives,” and then plan to join us for a free, live webinar on the subject. (more…)

If your company is in the market to upgrade their CMS platform to a shiny, new model, or just beginning to research options, it’s important to compare all the bells and whistles you’ll need to keep  your web experience management (WEM) capabilities strong, relevant and fresh. There are many newer features out there you may not have even thought were available, and some that will quickly turn into favorites making you wonder how you ever survived without. Take some time here – and over the next few posts – to familiarize yourself with some of the coolest features built into the iAPPS Product Suite, and then imagine these capabilities as an intrinsic part of your content management process. Chances are that much of the intuitive basic functionality built into iAPPS holds what you’re looking for – whether you know it yet, or not.

To effectively research a solution, step away from the processes and environments you’ve become accustomed to and really look to identify the goals you’re trying to accomplish – on a daily, weekly and seasonal basis. Then, ask how your CMS can help you to achieve those goals. Too often, users take current processes – frequently and unnecessarily complex – completely for granted. This narrow view makes it hard to be fully aware of any potential new functionality that may be available that can actually make a difference. As you vet all the possibilities, be sure you’re not missing the chance to solve many of your problems with the right CMS by identifying all the options available to you. (more…)

Improving Your Internal Search (and no, I don’t mean meditation)

Posted in User Experience,Website Design by Gwyn Pohl on March 9th, 2011

We hear about the many facets of Search Engine Optimization all the time (thank you, Kasy). But, what about internal site search? Getting visitors to your site is only part of the battle. Giving visitors the tools to search your site plays an important role in successfully directing conversions.

Last weekend I began searching for all inclusive trips to Mexico through expedia.com. While expedia offers some important filters (date range, departure city, arrival city, hotel star rating), there was one major filter missing: Adults Only. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been a camp counselor my entire adult life and love kids, but when I want to vacation, I want to escape everything including kids. So my frustration rose as I tried searching “Adults Only” within the hotel name and scanning the brief descriptions within my search results for the key words indicating my vacation would be kid free.

Content Rules!

content rules bookWe’re big fans of Ann Handley and C.C. Chapman and the recently published best-selling book they co-authored, Content Rules. And with the tenets of Content Rules so closely aligned to the philosophy of our web engagement management platform, iAPPS, as well as the core topic of this webinar, we thought that giving away some complimentary copies was the right thing to do. Me - presenting at MadMenYourself.com

There is something very appealing about the show Mad Men, and I’m not referring to the drinking at work part. Fifty years ago, marketers put creativity in the forefront, spending long nights brainstorming creative campaigns. The choice of medium was somewhat limited – print, broadcast, billboards – but the innovative campaigns that came out of this era still stand firmly in the American psyche.

Then this thing The Web came around. And everything changed.

David Meerman Scott put it best: “Prior to the web, organizations had only two significant choices to attract attention: buy expensive advertising or get third-party ink from the media. But the web has changed the rules.” (more…)

The Future of Flash Content

Continued lack of Flash support on the iPhone OS means it's time to adjust.

Continued lack of Flash support on the iPhone OS means it's time for web creators to adjust.

The recent unveiling of the iPad brought one glaring truth to the attention to the web community: Apple does not like Adobe. That might be a bit simplistic, but the fact of the matter is that the iPhone OS has never supported Flash and in the public unveiling of their new “magical” uber internet device, still no Flash support. Of course, Apple is the leader in controlled computing experiences, so it makes sense they would avoid Adobe’s technology, especially since it compromises the security and stability of their devices.
