Google announced a new tool set for business owners, as well as franchise and multi-unit organizations, to help them better manage their business information, photos, reviews and Google+ accounts
This new dashboard is called “Google My Business” and replaces the bulk upload, or “white list” functionality previously offered in the bulk location management tools.
What is Google My Business?
Google My Business aims to provide companies a platform to efficiently manage important business information, such as name, address, phone number, to Google Search, Google Maps as well as publish content on Google+ on one dashboard. Google My Business is mobile-friendly and accessible to customers on any device or service.
How does Google My Business Effect Digital Marketing?
For franchises, and other multi-unit organizations, this new dashboard is a huge opportunity to improve ROI. The new features will allow the parent company of a distributed network of local businesses to manage their business information and content with greater control and efficiency. With 97% of consumers searching for local businesses and products and services online, it is critical for organizations to keep important local search information up to date.
Key Benefits of Google My Business:
- Add & manage Google+ pages for multiple store locations
- Restrict or empower users with persona-based roles assignment (‘Store Managers’ and Communication Managers’)
- Centralize Ownership with Social Manager Designation
- Resolve ownership conflicts by having one owner per location
Google My Business also decreases the lag time of changes and updates to your location information to appear on Google Maps. This too has been a long anticipated improvement and will help multi-unit organizations onboard new locations quicker as well as make changes to existing locations quickly.
